HEART OF STONE

WCFF presents the return of Cinema of Conscience, its landmark series that began 23 years ago, in 1986. Some of the 100 festival films are socially conscious documentaries and dramas that speak to the variety of issues facing the world today.

One such movies is Heart of Stone - the inspiring documentary about Mr. Stone.

HEART OF STONE

This exceptional documentary tells the story of principal Ronald Stone who implemented a conflict resolution program - the first of its kind - at Weequahic High School in Newark, New Jersey. The program brings together gang members  and offers them a massive positive transformation that opens a future with options.

Heart of Stone won for Best Feature Film at the 2009 Philadelphia Film Festival, and screened at the 2009 Slamdance Film Festival for its North America Premiere, the 2009 Atlanta Film Fest, and the 2009 Cinequest Film Festival.

Film maker Beth Toni Kruvant delivers her award winning fourth documentary with passion and a mission; to change the world for the better by sharing these inspirational events.
