The Napa Sonoma Wine Country Film Festival stands for quality films that engage, inspire and deepen our common humanity. Many of the films are simply unavailable elsewhere. Our tradition of showcasing remarkable international cinema continues, providing a familiar environment which dedicated filmfestgoers find comforting. Our program of features, docs, shorts and animation promises to be the strongest slate ever.

INVENTION OF LYING, SIDEWAYS (the Japanese version) and VILMOS ZSIGMOND star at WCFF!

The Festival’s NAPA PROGRAM gets underway Thursday September 24th, at the Festival’s Open Air Venue at Napa Valley Expo with the presentation of Warner Brothers Invention of Lying, starring Ricky Gervais, Jennifer Garner, Jonah Hill, Jason Bateman and Tina Fey. Written and directed by Gervais, Invention of Lying is a romantic comedy set in a world where no one has ever lied, until a writer seizes the opportunity for personal gain. The movie screens outdoors at 8PM. Gates open at 6:30PM for a cooking demonstration with Chef Marco of Gaia Restaurant, live entertainment, and dining family style. Support our local businesses. ; Please no outside food or drinks.

The Festival wraps with a Closing Night Gala presentation Sunday September 27th (also at the Open Air Venue) of Sideways, the Japanese version of the Oscar winning hit film Sideways.

Directed by Cellin Gluck, the film stars Kyoka Suzuki, Rinko Kikuchi, Fumiyo Kohinata, and Katsuhisa Namase.

Filmed on location in Napa Valley, Sideways has its World Premiere at WCFF. The film screens outdoors at 8PM. The wineries featured in the movie - Frogs Leap, MX, Azur, Enoteca Wine Shop, Domaine Chandon, Darioush, and Newton Winery, will be on hand to offer tastes of their wines. The wine reception starts at 6:00PM
